![]() This way it gives the Vampire player an incentive to play the natural design of the Vampire archetype without blatantly plus-ing the opponent because you’re giving them free mills. ![]() If an opponent’s card(s) are sent from their deck to the GY by your card effect … (and so on into Necrovalley’s eff) But would it really have been a bridge too far to say give her a watered down Necrovalley like effect maybe like: I’m glad to see that the revive aspect got a built in draw to help keep things moving and again with Zombie World that becomes very consistent. Given that one “Vampires” two primary go-to’s have always been: Sadly she shares many of the same weaknesses that the archetype has held for a long time – slow effects, low power output, and relying on clunky mechanics.Ĭonsidering how they overhauled Divine Felgrand (along with Guardian and Paladin) to work around the carved in stone limitations of an old monster i’m a little disappointed that she didn’t bring more to the table. Just bringing the Link mechanic to the dance makes her valuable and if you’re playing traditional vampires by their intended methods – she adds to it. If you’re a filthy casual like me and you really like the archetype then this will be a necessity. Sadly we won’t likely see Vampires get a push like Shadow Spectres anytime soon (and that wasn’t even all that good, honestly.). Her arrows and stats are (at this point) painfully pedestrian and over all she really doesn’t do much to resurrect Vampires at this point. So personally she’s neat, the artwork is funky – some kinda corrupted fairy in a sunny field is certainly a departure from the typically more dark/gothic aesthetic that the family is better known for. While giving back monsters to your opponent isn’t “ideal” again, she stipulates that you can then use their Zombies for your tribute summons such as Red Eyes Zombie Dragon (who then kills something and brings it back to your side of the field). Also, if a GY summon occurs on your opponent’s turn under Zombie World, you get this effect again. You’re manipulating your opponent’s GY for your own gain – in a sense it’s 2x the resources since you pull a draw from it. OK, I see what you’re going for, that’s not bad. So there’s also her two “once per turn” effects – summon a monster from your opponent’s GY to their side of the field in DEF position and treat it “like” a Zombie – and – if a Zombie is summoned from the GY, draw a card. Like a crazy Vampire burn deck with Ectoplasmer and Skull Invitation paired with Zombie World so literally every turn you blast them for damage.ĭamn shame that, although if that is interesting to you there’s always cards like Fatal Abacus that you could have some fun with. It’s a shame that you’re bound to “tribute summons” as opposed to just a nebulous “tribute” because then you could have all kinds of fun. This can be a cute way to maintain field presence and keep your opponent’s monsters in check (very, very slowly). Now if you’ve played specifically “Vampire” Zombies (and c’mon, who hasn’t at least dabbled a little?) then you probably remember that the bulk of their monsters are in that Lv. ![]() So her big overarching ability is that you can tribute off Zombie monsters that your opponent controls for tribute summons. This also screams Scapeghost (which if you don’t have in your Zombie deck … why? just why?!) especially given her typing. So right off the bat (eh?) we have a Link-2 requiring 2 Zombie type monsters (about as difficult as breathing in a Zombie deck of any sort) which boasts 1600 ATK (pretty standard) and in a shocking twist is Dark attribute. If a Zombie monster(s) is Special Summoned from the GY: Draw 1 card. You can target 1 monster in your opponent’s GY Special Summon it to your opponent’s field in Defense Position, and if you do, it is treated as a Zombie monster. You can only use each of the following effects of “Vampire Sucker” once per turn. If you would Tribute a monster(s) for a Tribute Summon, you can Tribute a Zombie monster(s) your opponent controls as if you controlled it. Regardless, let’s take a look at what makes this little monster tick. Ugh.īut complaints about that aside, this friendly little fiend (zombie, I just wanted the alliteration) could be a lot of fun in a casual Vampire/Zombie deck.Ĭlearly the Vampire naming doesn’t provide a ton of synergy with cards that call “Vampire” as most of them either special summon from GY to field in DEF position or involve mechanics that aren’t Link summoning. ![]() Not that the bar is too high with others like “Vampire Vamp”. So with that AWFUL name aside, i’m curious what the creative geniuses in the localization department will come up with.
